Welcome Friends and Brethren and thank you for your continual support.  For this new year we are moving forward and with great success, I have handed off the Fredericksburg Education Program to Brother Pompilio in order to focus on the next two years and working for my Wardens Certificate so that hopefully you will permit me to sit as Worshipful Master in 2011.  As the new Junior Warden in 2009, I will work hard with the other line officer to ensure that our members have strong and continuous leadership.

We have done much great work and have help guide other lodges and our own district to elevate them and support them in their own pursuit of the esoteric meaning of our ancient fraternity that they may be able to find their own path in their quest for Masonic Light.  We have been honored to have Illustrious Brother George Washington and other great men as member of our Masonic Lodge.  Despite this, we must never rest on our laurels; we must always remember that we should never “live on borrowed honor” of the past.  We must “Move Forward” and continue the honors and leadership that makes each member of this fraternity great. We must make our own greatness, for the true secret of our Craft is that its members will learn to build himself into his own greatness through its lessons.

The strength and beauty of Freemasonry has always been based on the integrity of its members, the need to help others, and the devotion each Brother has for one another.  With that, please contact me at s.chandler@warbard.com if you need my assistance.

“Freemasonry teaches us that each member has a duty to their country, their God, their neighbor, and themselves.  We are taught not only to hold each life as sacred, but to hold sacred each memory and experience that gives that life meaning.  We learn that the greatest battles fought are against the demons within ourselves and the greatest peace one can offer is through eternal vigilance.  We are taught to seek the angels of our better nature and with those wings lift up those in despair or in need.  We are given the tools of masonry and are taught to build that spiritual Temple within ourselves.  As workers and warriors, professors and priests, we move at all social levels and yet as brothers we meet as equals.   Our history is that of Sword, Trowel & Song.  Our prayers are to the Great Architect of the Universe and our duties are not only to ourselves but to that undiscovered country.  We are Freemasons; we are that Light that is not seen until Darkness has fallen.  Then do we shine!”
